The classes comprise:

A full warm-up and stretch based on Suhaila Salimpour's muscular technique - these help to build strength and flexibility in the body inpreparation for American Tribal  Style Belly Dance

Exercises designed to enhance the bond, cameraderie and non-verbal communication skills which are pertinent to Tribal style belly dance

Instruction in the FatChanceBellydance format of American Tribal Style Belly Dance (the original and best!).  This includes: Basic fast and slow movements; Cues; Formations; Advanced techniques; Zills (finger cymbals); Improvisation techniques.

Explorations into dance styles such as Latin American, Kathak and flamenco to aid further understanding of the FCBD format.

The music we use ranges from deep, heavy tribal drums and folkloric to contemporary trance and industrial, and everything in between - there is something to suit everyone!

A stretch and cool-down session designed to gently relax the body and mind after the dance session

And not forgetting, most importantly - lots of laughter and friendship!

Wear something loose and comfortable with either bare feet, soft, flat dance shoes or even just your socks!!!
